Let's Grow Together
Our Mission
At the heart of Apple Valley Community Garden is a simple dream: bringing people together to grow wholesome, healthy food. But our vision goes far deeper than just growing vegetables—it’s about reclaiming the integrity of what we eat.
In a world where labels like "organic" have been diluted by loopholes and commercial interests, we are committed to something more honest: real food. Food that is not only free of chemicals, sprays, and synthetic inputs, but also full of the nutrients that nature intended—nutrients our bodies need to thrive. We believe in growing food the way it was meant to be grown: in living soil, with care, intention, and respect for the earth.
Our purpose is rooted in restoring a connection to food that supports both personal health and the health of our communities. We’re not just growing produce—we’re nurturing vitality, transparency, and trust. Every egg, every vegetable, every jar of honey or handmade good that comes from our garden reflects our values: no shortcuts, no compromise, and no hidden ingredients.
Apple Valley Community Garden is more than a place to grow food—it’s a growing movement. A local, sustainable hub where neighbors come together to share resources, knowledge, and nourishment. With eventual chickens, livestock, bees, and homemade goods, we are building a vibrant ecosystem that supports both body and spirit. We believe everyone should know where their food comes from—and that the answer should be just down the road, shared with a smile.
Rather than relying on boxed, store-bought goods, we’re digging into the earth together—planting, tending, and harvesting food we can all feel good about. Food with roots. Food with purpose. Food that feeds more than just hunger—it feeds community, resilience, and hope.
Needed Resources
1Community Members
We warmly welcome all community members to join us in making the Apple Valley Community Garden a success! Your involvement, whether through gardening, planning, or simply sharing ideas, is essential to creating a thriving and inclusive space. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience—together, we can cultivate not only plants but also friendships and a stronger community. Join us as we grow and learn together!
2Compost
We are in need of chemical-free, organic compost to support the growth of our plants at the Apple Valley Community Garden. This high-quality compost will enrich our soil, promote healthy plant development, and ensure that we maintain sustainable gardening practices. If you have any sources or can contribute compost, we would greatly appreciate your support in helping us create a vibrant, thriving garden!
3Supplies
To successfully build our raised beds, install fences, and plant our garden, we are seeking donations of gardening supplies and resources. Items such as wood for the beds, soil, seeds, tools, and fencing materials will be essential for bringing our vision to life. Your contributions will play a vital role in creating a thriving community garden that everyone can enjoy. If you can help or know of any local resources, please let us know!
4Seeds
We are in need of seed starts that have not been treated with harmful substances for our Apple Valley Community Garden. Healthy, chemical-free seedlings will ensure that our plants thrive and support our commitment to sustainable gardening practices. If you have access to organic seed starts or know of local suppliers, we would greatly appreciate your assistance in helping us maintain our garden with safe, robust plants!
5Monetary Donations
Apple Valley Community Garden is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, meaning all monetary donations are tax-deductible. Our garden is entirely powered by the generosity of our community—through volunteer time, donations, and the sale of our fresh, chemical-free produce. Every contribution goes directly toward supporting our mission: growing real, nutrient-rich food and creating a thriving community hub. Your donation helps us maintain the garden, care for animals, expand educational programs, and continue providing healthy, local food to our neighbors. You can donate here.
Meet the AVCG Team

But we can’t do it alone—we need you!
Our garden runs on teamwork.
We take turns, share responsibilities, and encourage each person to play a role that fits their skills and interests.
By working together and rotating roles, we ensure that no one feels overwhelmed or burnt out—and that our garden stays focused on growth, not greed.
